I have a serious soft spot for coffee, so when I stumble on of the freshest coffeehouse in the core of downtown Detroit I really get excited!  The Roasting Plant Detroit is a place were you can literally watch your coffee get roasted and brewed in front of your eyes.  They have a computerized system of clear tubes that transport your choice out of dozen varieties of exotic beans to grinding, roasting and brewing machines behind the barista counter.  Plus, because no two beans are the same, each batch of their coffee gets a custom roast to release its fullest flavor and aroma.  My Fave? The Guatemala Atitlan San Pedro La Laguna. Need something to pair with your cup of joe?  They also custom develop our pastries and bake them in each café all day, every day.  Yum!

The Roasting Plant is open Monday-Thursday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., 730 p.m. on Fridays, 7 a.m.-730 p.m. on Saturdays and 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays.
