I can’t believe the news is finally out. That’s right, we’re PREGNANT! It’s been a long summer of  keeping our secret and morning (aka all day long) sickness under wraps, but it was all worth it! Josh and I are thrilled to finally be able to shout it from the rooftops!

It’s our first baby, so you can say it’s been a little overwhelming navigating this new experience (any of you veteran mama’s be sure to send some tips by way!)  Plus, it was a pretty tough first trimester with constant morning sickness and the need for so much sleep! There was literally a time I couldn’t even open our fridge or dishwasher because of the smells. But, most of my energy has finally come back and even better news is that my appetite has mostly returned to normal now too.

Being pregnant is finally starting to feel real since noticing my new bump. Even though I was clearly having pregnancy symptoms, the news really hadn’t sunk in. For the past few months, I still went about my day as normal as possible (plus hardly anyone knew) so, it was easy to forget I had a little someone growing inside of me.

We are very excited to share this journey with you (no, Rose City Style Guide won’t turn into a mom blog) but I will for sure keep you posted along the way. Lastly, we want to say that we are SO thankful that we have been blessed with this major miracle. We realize that it’s not always easy to conceive and what a gift this is we can’t WAIT to meet our little babe!

Congrats! I’m a first-timer on your blog and a fellow Canadian – a few hours north of you in Port Elgin. I am – based on your ultrasound – about as far along as you, at almost 17 weeks. My first pregnancy as well! I was trying to find a lifestyle/fashion PLUS maternity blog in Canada – and it looks like I hit the jackpot! Looking forward to seeing some maternity inspiration for Canadian winters. It’s super cute to see bloggers in LA – sporting dresses with their bumps in ‘winter’ – but that doesn’t help this gal out any! All the best.
