Mixing High & Low Fashion

I love fashion, but can’t always afford it.  That’s why I love mixing high and low fashion.  It gets me the look for less and no one is the wiser.  Here are my two tricks to getting a good mix of expensive and budget buys in your wardrobe.

Invest in Staples

Those pieces you will have for years to come? Invest! Classic pieces like a great pair of boyfriend jeans or Celine Sunglasses can be worn again and again, so I can justify the sticker price.  Even though I will go for quality pieces when it comes to staples that doesn’t mean I pay full price.  Buying off season is a go-to of mine as long as I have the patience to wait it out.  For example, I recently snagged some black suede booties last month which will still be in still come fall but I bought them for a 60% off their regular price!

Go Cheap with Trends

Trends come and go, so I have a hard time spending the big bucks on “of the moment” items that will only last a season.  I love looking for dupes for those designer styles at stores like Old Navy, Forever 21 or ASOS.
