A new beginning, clean slate or fresh start- 3 ways people can describe a new year.  This month, I have teamed up with Devonshire Mall to showcase some simple ways I am seizing the opportunity to set goals for 2017. Even though, I am not a big fan of resolutions, I love a reason to set the reset button after the holidays and get back to the grind.  This year, I am sharing with you some simple hacks I have learnt over the years to eat healthier, hit the gym and stick to a beauty routine.

Get Inspired

Read Up

Get inspired by picking up some health and wellness books you’ll love.  A big fave of mine are the Oh She Glows cookbooks.  They are filled to the brim with healthy recipes that are delicious and leave you feeling great. My personal fave? The Almond Joy Granola Bars.  A sweet treat with no guilt. I snagged this book at Chapters in Devonshire Mall.

Stay Stylish

Buy a new workout outfit or a that trendy water bottle you have been eyeing.  This simply trick always works for me.  Sporting something new to get my sweat-on is a simple way to inspire me to get to the gym and with Lululemon  sticking around at Devonshire Mall, it was perfecting timing! This S’well water bottle from ChaptersTank top and Hoodie (a size up from what I usually wear) from Lululemon allow me to still rock my bump if I pair them with these maternity workout tights from Old Navy.

Get a Facial

A trick I just picked up this year! After getting a facial at a local med spa this past fall, it inspired me to keep up the serious hydration and glow.  After doing some research, I was off to Sephora at Devonshire Mall to add a few more essentials to my beauty routine to beat the winter blues.

Plan Ahead

Meal Prep

Get packing with fun and functional containers.  Ready set meals and snacks is a sure-fire way to avoid those impulses of something not so good for you when you are trying to eat clean.  I love the new bento boxes and bowls availible at chapters in Devonshire Mall for practical and easy prep!

Pack the Night Before

Another trick I have learned over the years is to pack everything you need to get to the gym/yoga the night before so you are ready to go and don’t have an excuse! I love the roomy and functional Go Getter Bag from Lululemon especially because it has a spot to keep your sweaty stuff separate and has yoga mat straps that stow away when you don’t need them.

Schedule Your Sweat Sessions

Lastly, just pencil your gym sessions in.  If you are like me, you never have time to go to work out.  But, when I book time in my calendar to go to a class or hit the gym I am much more likely to make it since I carved out the time in my day.  I use a combination of my iPhone and this Bando agenda from Chapters in Devonshire Mall.

Get Up Early

Feeling extra motivated?  Head to the gym before work- it’s found time! Waking up that extra hour early may feel terrible at first, but you will love the fact your evening is free of the task of getting your sweat on.
