How to Travel in Style

RoseCityStyleGuide-LivelyCreativeCo_Feb28-4Even though I won’t be headed anywhere this May long weekend, I will be traveling a lot this season so I have lined up some simple tips to help you stay stylish on your journey.

Tips to Travel in Style

Wherever I am headed, I always think of my traveling outfit as a part of my entire wardrobe I am bringing, so I always pick pieces I can easily blend into other outfits. For example, a classic white shirt can be incorporated into any climate. So even though its brisk in the airport back home it would still look great as I stepped off the plane down south by simply rolling up the sleeves.travelinstyle-rosecitystyleguide-travel-outfit-getaway-spring

Layers are also essential for those changes in temperature on and off the plane. I always layer with either a cardigan or blazer (depending on if I am traveling for business or pleasure) This duster cardigan in particular also doubles as a blanket at 35,000 feet.

Besides your carry on, I always bring a shoulder strap purse that can fit the necessities like your passport, tickets & money. The best part is that it is hands free so you still have hands for that last-minute coffee and your carry on.

One of my simplest tricks for looking polished while traveling is wearing a red lip.  It instantly gives you a chic look without all the effort. I love Nars’ combination lipstick and lip pencil, Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Siren Red, it combine the convenience of a pencil with the application of a lipstick.

Jeans are super comfortable to wear on a long flight, won’t wrinkle, easily blends into the rest of your wardrobe.  Want to look a little more polished? Don’t go for ripped jeans or swap in black ones.

Because of security checkpoints, minimalism is key when it comes to accessories. A watch and earrings give you just enough flare without having to remove too many items in security.travelinstyle-rosecitystyleguide-travel-outfit-getaway-spring

Lastly, a scarf is the perfect partner in crime while traveling. A bigger, more shawl-like scarf can be used as a blanket to keep warm on a long flight.
