What does the most delicious mushroom chowder, local wine and great views have in common? My evening last night at Caesars Windsor for Nero’s Steakhouse 2015 tasting menu!
The hubby and I had the pleasure of treating our palettes to the newest eats and treats the local fine dining restaurant will have to offer this year.
The talented executive chef Patrick McClary,Chef de Cuisine Deron Lepore and Executive Sous Chef Rajan Mehra cultivated locally sourced ingredients for their delectable new dishes. From a Goat Cheese and Salt Roasted Beet Salad with a Champagne Vinagrette, 5 Mushroom Chowder with Honey, Rosemary and Cream or a Wild Miso Glazed Salad with a Sesame Glaze and fresh Scallions there is something for everyone to love on the new menu.
But one thing that surprised us the most? The price points on the 2015 menu. The hubby and I have a date night almost every weekend and noticed that last week we had a similar dish at a local restaurant for a similar price but with less complexity, ingredients and definitely no Detroit skyline view. The Verdict? Nero’s Steakhouse has officially been placed on our date night rotation.
My favourite dish? Of course it was one of the miniature desserts! This tiny strawberry shortcake packed a big punch with a champagne centre and some dark chocolate accents. Plus, it was almost too adorable to eat!
