Decorating for the Holidays

Well, it is that time again to dig up all your holiday home decor from storage.  To my husband’s disappointment, last year we were extremely late putting up our Christmas Decorations (like the week of Christmas) because of a basement flood and a lot of morning sickness for this girl. So, over the next few days, we are setting some time aside to get our sh*t together before it’s the holidays.

During my maternity leave, I have been slowly purging old and unnecessary items in our home, so I will also be taking the time to clear out some old Christmas Decor that keeps being left in the Rubbermaid bins and never put out as well as some of the extra stuff we don’t need to clutter the house or get into the hands of our almost 9-month-old.

Even though it does seem excessive, we have 2 Christmas trees. My neutral tree (similar here) sits on the main floor in our dining room window and the hubby’s super festive classic tree (similar here) is in our basement in the family room. I am a sucker for neutrals and Josh is not when it comes to the holidays so this was our compromise.

As we put up our decor this year, I will also be organizing how we store it for the year for simplicity’s sake so, I thought I will share with you some of the things I will be picking up from to help us with task of both decorating our home for the holidays and keeping the storage organized.
