5 Tips to Simplifying Your Life + Giveaway

I received compensation from Schick® Intuition® to talk about the Schick Intuition Effect- All about simplifying my life despite the chaos of motherhood.

Motherhood is crazy.  The days are long and your time is short! So, any tips, tricks and things I can get my hands on that can make my day a little easier (and simple) I soak in –  no questions asked.  I am all about simplifying my life despite the chaos of motherhood to bring more moments of happy! That’s why I am sharing 5 things I do regularly to try to keep my life in check!

 15-minute Go-To Beauty Routine

Self-care as a new mom was the first to go on my hectic days with Finn. After realizing its still okay to make time for myself (not going to lie, it took a few weeks) I managed to come up with a 15-minute beauty routine that works. Fifteen minutes is enough time to pull myself together so I can feel confident going out in public but quick enough to be squeezed in before the baby is up or during a morning nap.

  1. Quick body shower with my 2-in-1 Schick Intuition Razor.  As a #SchickAmbassador, I am currently digging the new Schick® Intuition® Island Berry razor. The shower is the most time consuming part of my routine, so anything that makes my routine easier but still delivers a great shave is essential. The Schick Intuition Island razor lathers, shaves and moisturizes during shaving without the fuss of dealing with shave gel – plus, the new tropical fragrance lets you pretend for a second you’re not in your bathroom.
  2. Brush my teeth, wash my face with Caudalie’s Instant Foaming Cleanser, apply my favouriteSkinCeuticals CE Ferulic Serum, topped with the Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream with Super 7 Complex.
  3. Toss on some simple makeup including: Laura Mercier Radiance Primer , Maybelline’s Fit Me Dewy and Smooth Foundation (I use 110), Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Caramel, M.A.C. Blush in PeachesCharlotte Tilbury’s cream eyeshadow in Jean and L’Oreal’sVolumious Feline Mascara. Also, if I have time I use the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit in light.

Keep a Capsule Wardrobe

A capsule wardrobe literally takes the thinking out of getting dressed.  You have a variety of options that all work together and it’s impossible to screw up.  The only thing you need to worry about is the weather!  Since I am breastfeeding, I am limited in the things that I can wear without causing a huge headache. So, I have created my very own breast-feeding friendly but still stylish, casual capsule wardrobe for spring. Be sure to check it out here.

Give Everything a Place

When everything has a place there is always less clutter and unnecessary things in your home. Now that I am off on maternity leave and I get a second (aka Finn is napping) I have started to go room by room to de-clutter, purge and create a specific spot for the things that remain.  It feels so great! It removes the hunt for something I need and it as a place that is tucked away when it is no longer in use.  Streamlining my home has also really improved my mood now that I am home all day with the baby.  Hint: I ask myself, if you were to be moving into a new house tomorrow would I pack this and bring it along? If not, see ya later unnecessary item!

Write it Down

Lastly, Mom brain has officially taken over and I can hardly remember what day it is. So, lists are my new lifeline.  Sometimes it’s a hard copy while at home or in the notes app on my phone while on the go, either way, things need to be jotted down in order for them to happen nowadays.  But, by writing it down, its’s one less thing I am thinking about. I am less stressed and can enjoy more of my day!

I meal prep/plan on Sunday. I cook what I can so when we get home after work dinner is ready. We just have to heat it up. Makes things so much easier.
